Madelene Hamile Hardy born May 23, 1921 in Brandon, Manitoba died Sept 2, 2018 at Crescent Gardens Care Home, Surrey BC.
Madelene spent her early years in Bloomington, Illinois. The family moved to Winnipeg where she met James Leslie Hardy, an RAF mechanic training in Canada; during WWII. They were married in Leicester, England in 1946. They moved back to Winnipeg a few years later and started a family. In 1989 they moved to White Rock where they enjoyed the weekly dances at the Kent St. Activity Centre. They were very active in many other social activities, but dancing was their passion.Madelene continued to dance until a few months before her death.
She is survived by her sister Mona, her sons Donald (Mary) & George (Irene), her grandchildren Alison, Rozalyn, Chris and Rachel as well as great grandchildren
Zachary, Isabella, Devinne and Jorrie.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her remembrance to sponsor women's education via a site such as plancanada.ca/girls-education. A celebration of life will be held in mid-November. Special thanks to the wonderful staff at Crescent Gardens.
