Margaret Alice Saville (Meg) Waddell

In White Rock on Sunday February 16, 2003. Born in Spy Hill, Saskatchewan on April 15, 1908. Meg grew up in England and Alberta, with six brothers and four sisters. She married John Waddell in 1932, raised a family in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, and retired to B.C. in 1961. Widowed in 1982, Meg continued to live in White Rock and enjoy her extended family. She loved sing songs, dancing, any kind of needlework or card game and family reunions. If she became involved in a club, she generally became president of it. When arthritis stopped her from doing handiwork, she took up painting and orchid growing. She is survived by sons C. John (Alma), A. George (Carole), W. Frank (Isabel), Richard L. (Ann) and daughter Margaret Anne Halpenny (Frank), brother William G. Saville, sisters Kathleen Saville Straughan, and Doreen Saville Burles. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Services were held on Friday Feb. 21, 2003 at Crescent Gardens Retirement Home.
