RADFORD

Marjorie Pauline (nee Crouse)

August 03, 1923 - June 28, 2017

Marjorie was born in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia into a family whose ancestors had come there in 1753. In 1945, she married George Radford, a sailor from Surrey BC, and moved to the West Coast. Marjorie passed away at Morgan Place Residential Care a week after having a stroke. Our thanks to the staff in Emergency and on 6th floor at Peace Arch Hospital, and to the staff at Morgan Place.

Marjorie is survived by one brother Philip (Agnes) in Nova Scotia; children Lea and Don (Karen); 4 grandchildren Tamara (Al), Sabrina (Rob), Harley and Kate; 4 great-grandchildren Thomas, Dallas, Dawson and Logan. Also many nieces and nephews, and many friends.

Marjorie was a veteran, serving in the Canadian Womens Army Corps, stationed in Halifax, which is where she met her husband of 70 years, George. She was a very active member of the Royal Canadian Legion since her discharge. Marjorie was a charter member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, serving as Provincial President in 1979-1980. In the late 50's, she joined the Semiahmoo Fish and Game club. There too, Marjorie was a very active member, serving in a number of offices and directorships. Perhaps more importantly, she ran the kitchen, and with her many helpers catered many meals to earn money in support of the club. Cooking was her favourite thing to do - for family - for anyone!

Marjorie is predeceased by the love of her life, husband George in 2015, her sisters Florence, Agnes, Hilda and Alice, and her brothers Donald, Albert, Everett, Amos, John, Clarence and Douglas.

Her Celebration of Life took place on Sunday, July 2nd 2017, at the Semiahmoo Fish & Game Club at 1284 184th St, Surrey, BC.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
