It is with heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Marlene Iris Schalin on September 11, 2018.
Now in heaven, she is predeceased by her parents, Emil and Elsie Ratke, twin grandchildren, Cole and Bryce. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Eldin Schalin, her son Doug, her grandchildren Brody & Mila, her sister Joyce (Wayne) Dyck of Chilliwack, her sister in-law Janice (Gary) Taylor of Cremona, brother in-law Grayson (Susan) Schalin of Calgary, and numerous nieces, nephews, and many close friends.
Marlene worked in office administration for Vicwest in Vancouver for numerous years, and retired in the Ocean Park area of White Rock. The Lord called her home after a record breaking 7-year battle with cancer, special thanks to Dr. Lyly Le of Surrey Cancer Clinic for all her wonderful expertise. Marlene passed under the helpful and gracious care of the Langley Hospice Center.
Celebration of Life to be held at Hazelmere Golf Club , 18150 - 8th Ave Surrey ,B.C. on Wednesday September 26 , 2018 at 2:00 pm Donations can be made to the B.C. Cancer Foundation.
