Born on December 25, 1931 in Cumberland, BC passed away June 17th, 2023 after a brief illness. She was 91 years old. Marolyn was predeceased by her beloved husband Eugene Jow in 2017. Marolyn was the daughter of M. L. (Chalky) Bates and Vittoria Bono who were both also born in Cumblerland.
Marolyn worked at Weldwood Lumber for almost 40 years and was the Accounts Receiving Manager when she retired. Marolyn loved all sports but especially baseball and racquetball. She was accomplished in racquetball and won several tournaments. She loved being active and was always anxious to be going or doing something. After retirement she and Gene took up square dancing and enjoyed their weekly dances. They moved to White Rock upon retirement. They also loved to go on cruises and travelled extensively. Marolyn was booked to go on a cruise in May and was disappointed she wouldn't be able to go.
Marolyn will be sadly missed by the many friends she made in Amica, a retirement home in Surrey,BC. She was loved by the staff and was very appreciative of the outstanding care she received there. Marilyn has requested that there be no service.
