Our wonderful, beloved boy, born September 12, 1996 in Vancouver, BC, passed from this world November 14, 2018, leaving an immense ache and unfillable space in the hearts of all of his family and friends. Matthew, you were creative, talented, intelligent, insightful, kind, funny, fearless, sensitive and caring. Your laugh was boisterous and endearing. You loved being independent, discovering new things. You loved travel and were an adventurer at heart, and happiest when doing so, and especially loved California.
We know your heart and soul can now soar to travel to all the other places you wanted to experience. Our eyes will also strive to do this for you the rest of our lives. The beauty of the sun, sky, ocean, trees and highways to new places will always remind us of you. Please send us a message to let us know you got there, are happy and at peace. We know you didn't plan to leave us so soon, Matt. We will miss you and love you forever. You will always be in our hearts.

Matthew is survived by his Mom Laureen, Dad Mark, Sister Tessa, Grandma Anne Gillard, Nana Marcia Madryga, aunts, uncles, cousins, many friends and Dixie, our family's sweet Westie. We wish to thank all of the staff at Peace Arch Hospital, White Rock for your care of Matthew.
