Hoflin, Mauritz Hjalmer (Maurice)

December 25, 1911 To April 12, 2008

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Maurice, after 96 years with us he has gone to be with his beloved Irene who predeceased him in July of 2000.

Maurice was born in Tofield, Alberta on Christmas day 1911. He grew up and farmed in the area for many years, then moved to Noral, a small community in Northern Alberta near Lac La Biche where they homesteaded.

In the fifties, they moved to White Rock, BC and Maurice became a member of the Operating Engineers Local 115 and had just received his 40 year pin in 2007.

He was married to his wife Irene for 67 years before her passing in July of 2000. He is also predeceased by his sons Albert, Ralph, and Douglas; daughter Gloria; son-in-laws Wilfred and Dennis; and grandchildren Jeannie Hoflin, Darrell Hoflin, Crystal Hogg and Mavis Contreras. He is survived by his children Ernest (Jackie) of White Rock, BC, Walter (Bernice) of Wilkie Saskatchewan, and Gertrude (Joe) of Lakewood, Washington, daughter-in-law Jean Hoflin of Edmonton, AB. As well as 14 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 21 great-great-grandchildren.
