Breadner, Melvin - It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of our dear dad, grandfather and great grandfather Melvin Breadner. He was the foundation and leader of our family, lifelong teacher and above all was fundamentally committed to his family. He showed us and others the most generous demonstrations of everything kind, loyal, supportive, courageous, honourable and wise. He passed with grace and dignity June 15, 2008 in White Rock, B.C. Melvin was born in Westlock, AB on July 19, 1927. He later met and married his loving wife and constant companion Josie on November 18, 1950, where they shared 55 wonderful years of marriage, 36 years in Prince George and the remaining 19 in White Rock until Josie passed away in April 2006. Mel was in business in Prince George for many years as a homebuilder and later as a carpenter at PGP and Intercon. In retirement Mel became a realtor in White Rock. Mel and Josie made hundreds of friends in their years in Prince George and have done the same in White Rock. Mel was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1955. He had an irrevocable commitment to his continued spiritual growth with his unwavering faith as a major theme of his life. Survived by son Myles, Portland; grandson Christopher, Vancouver; granddaughter Angie and husband Randy together with great granddaughter Alayna and great grandson Ryerson all of Kelowna. He is also survived by his special niece Lana and husband Tim, Olympia, WA; and sister Donna, Westlock, AB. A heartfelt thanks to the many friends for their care and support; he will be missed by many. Memorial Service to be held on June 28, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 14832 24th Avenue, South Surrey. Flowers gratefully declined.
