WATTS - Mona (nee Monica Garvey)
August 15th 1916 - July 22nd 2006
It is with sadness that we announce the gentle passing of Mona, a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and good friend on July 22nd at age 89 just before her 90th birthday. She is predeceased by her husband Harry and she passed, on what would have been their 62nd wedding anniversary.
Mona was born in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, England and came to Canada with her parents as a child to live in Anyox and then Vancouver. After marriage, Mona & Harry raised their family in Newton and later retired to South Surrey. Mona was active in the PTA, enjoyed gardening, playing bridge, bingo and bowling with her long-time friends, and contributing to her Church. She gave her love in a multitude of ways to her three children Monica (Ken), George (Liz) and Steve (Leona), ten precious grandchildren, Lisa, Larissa, Laura, Lavonne, Joe, Karen, Nicky, Josh, Matt and Troy, their partners, and great grandson, Tristan. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations made to Hazelmere United Church in her memory sent care of Monica Neville. A memorial service will be on Friday, July 28th, 11:30 am at Hazelmere United Church located on the corner of 16th Avenue and 184th Street in South Surrey.
