Neil McNeill King, 1st July 1926 to 5th November 2017, peacefully, at Westminster House, Surrey.

Deeply missed by Hazel, his wife of 66 years, sons Dick, Alan (Barbara, deceased), Stewart (Cheryl), and Graeme, grandchildren Richard and Rachel, his extended family and his many friends.

Predeceased by brother Johnny, and sisters Margaret and Irene.

Neil was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1943. Following WWII, he worked, principally for Trans Canada Airways, in a number of locations across Canada. In 1959 he joined B.C. Electric (subsequently B.C. Hydro, from which he retired in 1985), and he, Hazel and children settled in the White Rock area.

Neil is remembered for encouraging sporting activities - setting up a softball league for children, and acting as President of the Peace Arch Soccer Association - including being instrumental to the building of the original Peace Arch Curling Club of which he was a founding member.

He enjoyed many sporting activities throughout his life including softball, golfing, curling, and lawn bowling, in which he was a runner up in provincial championships.

Memorial Service on Saturday afternoon, 11th November, at 3:30 pm at Victory Memorial Park (14831 28 Ave, Surrey).

The family thank Dr. Scott, Dr. Wu, Dr.Tung, Dr. Bashir, and the staffs of Peace Arch Hospital, Pacific Carlton, and Westminster House for the care they provided him over many years.
