Norah Edith FERGUSON

November 20, 2008

FERGUSON: Norah Edith - Passed away suddenly on November 20, 2008 at Weatherby Pavilion in White Rock. Predeceased by her three sisters, Mona (Webster), Margaret (Ferguson) and Audrey (Champ). She will be fondly missed by her niece Judy Swanson of Qualicum Beach and great nieces Erica Swanson of White Rock and Amy Berning of Calgary.

Born in Saskatoon, Sask, on Dec. 2nd 1923, Norah was the third daughter of Mary and Gordon Ferguson. She grew up in Winnipeg Manitoba and came to Vancouver in 1949 and enjoyed a long career with Dale & Co. before retiring to White Rock in 1984.

She spent many happy years in retirement with her sister Margaret until a devastating stroke in 2005 confined her to a nursing home.

The stroke robbed her of her mobility and independence but never diminished her indomitable spirit, nor dulled her keen sense of humour. She faced her lengthy hospitalization with courage and without complaint.

To the end she maintained her love of stylish dressing, shopping and a cocktail before dinner.

She requested no service, but friends and family will raise a glass to her today at 2pm at 1830 - Southmere Crescent East in South Surrey.
