In loving memory ~
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Norma Sylvia Mason of White Rock, British Columbia. Norma passed away March 14, 2022 at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends.
Norma was born August 28, 1928 in Scarborough, Ontario to Sidney William Buttress and Gertrude May Buttress. At a few months old, the family moved back to Cambridge, England. Norma had six loving siblings Francie, Molly, Betty, Shirley, Sonia and Sidney. At 14 Norma enjoyed working in Boots department store in the cosmetic department. After the war in 1946, Norma immigrated to Belmont, Manitoba where she met her loving husband, George. They moved to New Westminster, Vancouver and then to North Delta where Norma had many cherished family memories. In 1989, they moved to the King Fisher apartments in White Rock. Norma thoroughly enjoyed her life there because her neighbours and friends were so caring and thoughtful of each other.
Norma loved to cook and entertain for her family and friends and liked to bring humour into conversations. She had a warm smile and gave it freely to everyone. Norma was always kind and humble. She found comfort in studying the Bible on her own and with close friends from her church. Norma believed that one day she would be reunited with all her loved ones safely in the arms of the Lord Jesus.
Norma was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and was loved and cherished by everyone including her late husband George Mason (passed 1995), children Linda Mason, Bradley Mason and John Mason (passed 2005), and her loving sister Shirley Berberick, brother-in-law Richard Mosoronchon, grandchildren Julie Ainscow, Mark Mason, Gregory Frederick, David Frederick, great grandchildren Katie and Isabella Frederick and Nicholas and Cameron Ainscow. She will always be remembered and loved.
A small family service will take place.
