Born to Paul Emile and Madeleine Hardy in Montreal Quebec, Pauline graduated nursing school in Montreal and began her career working for the Red Cross. During that time, she travelled to the West Coast where she met her husband Don Koenen and had her two sons, Andrew, and Paul.
They spent their early years in White Rock where she worked as an operating room nurse at Peace Arch Hospital before moving to Prince George. While working at the hospital and raising her children she also completed her Certified Management Accounting program. The family moved back to White Rock in the early 1990's and she finished her career at Royal Columbian Hospital.
Pauline passed away at Peace Arch Hospital April 24, 2022 after a short battle with cancer.
She is predeceased by her brother Julien Hardy, sister Denise Gerin and husband (separated) Don Koenen.
Pauline is survived by her sons Andrew and Paul Koenen, granddaughter Talisha Meisel and her nieces and nephews in Montreal, Lucie, Anne-Marie,Marc-Andrew and Louis-Paul Gerin and their families. Robert, Sylvain, Francois and Jean Hardy and their families.
Pauline loved her morning walk on the seawall and pier, always looking for the eagles and herons. She loved a good seafood dinner and a glass of wine. She will be greatly missed by all that had the pleasure to meet and know her.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Good Shepherd Church located at: 2250 150th St, Surrey, BC, on Tuesday June 28th at 1:00pm.
