Dunkley -Peter Melling

Peter passed away peacefully at Peace Arch Hospital on March 16, 2007.

He will be remembered with love by his wife of 52 years, Audrey, and his daughters, Andrea Boomars (Preston), Michelle Good (Randy), grandchildren, Cammie and Kevin.

He is survived by his brother Melvin Dunkley (Nickie) and many nieces and nephews.

Peter was born in Armstrong, B.C. on January 8th in 1931, the youngest son of Hilda and George Dunkley. Peter graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. He was a teacher and a principal in the Surrey School District for over 30 years. In Peter's youth he spent his summers on the beach at Mable Lake, B.C. Later on Peter spent his summers at Cultus with his family, enjoying sailing, table tennis and golf. He loved Hawaiian music, playing his pedal steel guitar and building elaborate train layouts. He will be remembered for his integrity, his quick wit, his easy laugh, and his devotion to his wife and girls. Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of Peter's life at 11:00 am, on March 23, 2007, at Victory Memorial Park Funeral Center, 14831-28 Ave. Surrey, BC. Flowers great fully declined in favour of donations to Peace Arch Hospital. The family wishes to thank the staff at Weatherby 3 for their kindness to Peter during his last years.
