REYNOLDS, Philomena

It is with profound sadness that the family of Philomena Reynolds shares the news of her death, February 9, 2015, at her home in Kelowna, wrapped in the love of her daughters. Phil was born in Castlebar, County Mayo, Ireland. She came to Prince Rupert in 1957, where she met Jim and became a proud Canadian. Phil adored music, strong coffee, politics, long walks with her dog, dancing, pickling beets, yard work, the Canucks and travelling, but her greatest joy was her family. We never doubted her faith in us, and we were blessed to have a mom with such a bright spark. By her example, Mom taught us the value of a generous spirit, volunteerism and hard work. Phil spent many years in White Rock, raising our family and helping run RJ Reynolds Land Surveying. Phil is predeceased by her husband, Jim, brothers, Michael and Tommy, and sisters, Peggy and Kay. She is survived by her beloved youngest brother, Frank (Kay), in Ireland and her sister Nora (John) in New York. She is also survived by her dearest friend, Jane Schoepps, nieces Terri and Kellie Rice, Vivian Stock (Riley), and several nieces and nephews abroad. Mom will be ever missed by her daughters Susan Reynolds (Brian), Maeve Reynolds and Catherine Wallis, son-in-law Chris Wallis and her treasures, her cherished grandchildren, Thomas, Liam, Olivia and Daniel Wallis. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Feb. 14th at 2:30 pm at St. Charles Garnier Parish, 3645 Benvoulin Road, Kelowna, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Canuck Place, in Phil’s name www.canuckplace.org. We wish to thank the kind nurses and care aides for providing comfort to our sweet Mom. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.springfieldfuneralhhome.
