Rae was born in Nelson, BC the eldest son of Nelson and Ena Ball. He passed away peacefully at Peace Arch Hospital, White Rock on June 26th. Rae is survived by his wife, Sheena, his children Andrew ( Rebecca), Louise ( Phillip), and Samantha, and their mother Margaret. Also survived by his grandchildren Hannah, William, Matthew, Camryn and Angus, his brothers Lorne (Anne), Allen (Marjory) and his brother in law Jim (Candace) Brown and nieces, nephews and cousins. Rae received his Masters of Social Work from UBC and worked for BC Corrections, GF Strong Rehabilitation Centre, Surrey Memorial Hospital and in private practice. He was a proud member of the Nanaimo Kinsmen Club, raising funds for iron lungs for the BC Polio Fund in the 1950s and later involved with Scouts Canada. He also enjoyed hiking and backpacking with Sheena throughout BC, Alberta, the Yukon, Alaska and parks in Washington, Oregon, California, Utah and Arizona and holidays to Mexico, Costa Rica and the U.K. Thank you to Dr. R.
