In sadness, we announce that Rhona Tunbridge, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, mother-in-law and friend, passed away peacefully at Peace Arch Hospital on Thursday January 30 2025 at the age of 88.
Rhona was born in Cape Town, South Africa, on November 11, 1936. She was the second-youngest of 9 children, the daughter of Arthur Kenneth Abrahams and Mildred Jane Abrahams (nee Mulder.)
Rhona is deeply missed by her children Rhona-Lynne (Walt Segarra), Tracy, Jill, David (Mary), and Ronald; her grandchildren David (Erica), John, and Taylore, her great-granddaughter Violet, her extended family, and the many people who consider themselves a part of her family.
We are comforted by the thought that she is now with the love of her life, the late Ronald Tunbridge, dancing to "Unchained Melody" and showing heaven how to host a Tunbridge-style party.
With her love, gentleness and kindness, Rhona had an inspiring ability to bring people together. She always knew the right thing to say and the right thing to do. She showed us that life is beautiful.
To honour her, please indulge in something that brings you joy. Savour a piece of chocolate; enjoy a cup of tea - and add another spoon of sugar; sing a song; read something inspiring; cheer for your favourite Formula 1 driver; and give someone a hug.
