WINCH, Richard Myles

Richard Myles Winch peacefully passed away at the Holmberg House Hospice in Abbotsford on the 11th of September. Although living in Abbotsford for the past 15 years, he has always been associated with athletics in South Surrey / White Rock. Myles taught for 42 years before taking long term leave at the beginning of the 2015/2016 school year to focus on fighting his cancer. He was renowned for his unfailing support for students and his love of the outdoors.

It made him a favorite with decades of peninsula graduates. (https://www.kudoboard.com/boards/iTNdJbLH)

Myles was also a consummate handyman who assisted many local residents with their projects. He is survived by his loving wife Janet, son Jordan, daughter in law Jennifer and the apple of his eye, grandson Kyler. Myles had requested no service be held and that contributions be made to the “Winch - Go Play Outside” scholarship fund at Semiahmoo High School in lieu of flowers.
