Robert (Bob) York McCorquodale

June 1, 1932 - September 12, 2021
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dad, Robert (Bob) York McCorquodale on September 12, 2021, in Foothills Health Centre, Calgary, AB, lovingly surrounded by his daughters.
Bob was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on June 1, 1932. Predeceased by his wife Elizabeth (Bet), of 54 years in 2010, his brother Donald and sisters Iona and Jean. He is survived by his sister Margaret (Peg), three daughters, Bonnie (Rob), Brenda (Patrick), and Barbara (Darcy). He was a loving Grandpa to Braydon, Kara (Brett), Joshua, Zachary (Lindsey), Alex (Nicole), and Great Grandpa to Helen, Hudson, Emmett, Raiden and Kinsley.
He spent most of his younger years in Winnipeg where he married, started his family and got his trade in the printing industry. In 1958 he moved his family to BC, where he resided in Vancouver, retiring to White Rock in 1996. July 2021 Bob moved to Calgary, Alberta, and was able to have quality time with all of his immediate family prior to falling ill in August.
Throughout his life Bob participated in many sports, including curling, bowling, golf and baseball. He enjoyed and excelled at them all, first as a participant and later as a coach. An avid and diehard fan of the Canucks, BC Lions (providing they were not playing the Winnipeg Blue Bombers) and the Blue Jays, Bob never gave up on his teams. He will be greatly missed by many friends and family all across the country. He never met a stranger, just friends he didn't know yet.

A Celebration of Life will be held on July 16th, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Valley View Memorial Gardens - 14644 72nd Avenue. Surrey, BC. Reception to follow. The Celebration will be streamed. The link will be posted on Bob's Valley View online obituary page.
