Robert John Hansen

January 31, 1927 - February 5, 2020
Our beloved Bob died peacefully on February 5, 2020 just days after celebrating his 93rd birthday. Bob was born January 31, 1927 in Calgary, Alberta, to Peter and Heloise Hansen. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Bettymae; children Bob (Adrienne) and Tom (Sandy); and grandchildren Ava, Zachary, and Patrice.
Bob worked for 42 years for the Canadian Western Natural Gas Company (now ATCO). He was district manager, based out of Claresholm, Alberta, and served the communities of Stavely and Granum as well. Upon his retirement in 1988, he and Betty moved to White Rock where they led an active life, enjoying golf, gardening, and travel. Community involvement was important to Bob and he served on his condominium's strata council for years and was an active member of his church. His faith and church family were sources of great comfort.
The family would like to thank those who cared for Bob at the Al Hogg Pavilion and the Evergreen Care Home, and thank you also to Dr. Lourens Perold for his continued kindness and support.
Please join us to remember Bob at the Church of the Holy Trinity, White Rock, 2 pm, February 21. If you attend, please feel free to wear colourful clothing, as per Bob's request. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation of Canada.
