1923 -2010

On June 28th, Bob Smith died peacefully in his sleep at his home in Coquitlam. He was born in Fort San Sask. on Feb. 5, 1923. He served as a pilot in the RCAF during WWII. After the war he attended UBC where he graduated with a

degree in Commerce. He spent the majority of his professional career as Secretary Treasurer of School District 43 (Coquitlam). He was an avid golfer, curler and enjoyed hunting and fishing with his friends and sons. He is survived by his wife Hope McLatchy and his four children: Robert Allen Smith, Gregory Smith, Barbara Kraft, and Stephanie Smith-Turpin. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two stepsons and their families. He will be sincerely missed by his colleagues, friends and family. A service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sat. July 3, 2010 at St. Mary, The Virgin Anglican Church, (Sapperton), 121- East Columbia St., New Westminster, BC
