STELMACH, Robert 'Max Tell'

November 7, 1945 - December 13, 2015


Beloved children's entertainer, multi award-winning author and singer/songwriter/poet - Max was all these and more. He passed away after a valiant fight with cancer, in the Peace Arch Hospital Hospice. Huge thanks to the staff at Surrey Memorial Tertiary Palliative ward and the Peace Arch Hospice unit for their wonderful care. Special thanks to Dr. Joshi & Tara Field for their warm hearts and invaluable support. Max was born in Hamilton, Ontario, studied theatre arts in university in the U.S., and eventually found his way to White Rock. He had 7 world tours, 2 books, and 6 CDs to his credit, as well as countless published articles. He gave performances and workshops in schools and libraries internationally, as well as across Canada and throughout the Lower Mainland. Max is survived by his loving wife Estelle Bogoch-Stelmach and his children Aaron and Anna. He also leaves behind 2 brothers John (Lindsay) and Mike (Suzanne) in Ontario, and extended family there and in California, as well as many friends who miss him deeply. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 7 in Sanford Hall, 1379-128 Street, Surrey, 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.
