Passed away on May 1, 2003 following a brief but valiant battle with cancer. Born July 18, 1931 in Stony Mountain, Manitoba, Bob spent part of his youth in Port Kells on the family farm. Later the Miller family opened a general store in County Line where he stayed until his late teens. Bob's quest for adventure led he and his brother to eastern Canada where he met his life long love June. Married for 50 years, Bob and June raised three children in Ocean Park. Bob was an active member of the community and served as Commodore of the Crescent Beach Yacht Club. His love of boating also saw Bob become a founding member of the fun filled "Bahama Bob Yacht Club." During his life, Bob had many adventures and titles but his favourite was "Dad."
His parents, brother Tom and sister Elsie predeceased Bob. He is survived by his loving wife June, daughters Jackie (Jim) and Jennifer (Bob), son Mike and sister Joan in Florida. Known as "Grampa Bobby" he leaves behind several grandchildren; Ron, Nikki, Naomi, Chris, Stephie, Jasmine, Samantha, John, Ashley, Gabrielle and six great grandchildren. As Bob's greatest assets were his family and friends, a celebration of Bob's life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 10 at Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 240 in Crescent Beach.
