Rod KERR

KERR: Rod. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rod Kerr. His inspiration, wit and devotion to family and community will be greatly missed. Rod's amazing passion for life and his humor will form our many wonderful memories. Rod is survived by his wife Dixie, daughters Sandy (Keith), Tracy (Rob), son Dan (Karen), grandchildren; Ben, Gabe, Chase, Madison and Katie.

Rod was born on May 7, 1929 and left us on June 20, 2006 after a valiant fight against complications incurred after surgery.

Rod and his family lived in White Rock for 29 years and he was instrumental in the development of the community and very involved in various service groups.

In 1971 Rod initiated White Rock's first Polar Bear Swim and was the driving force behind the building of the South Surrey Indoor Pool in 1976. A member of the White Rock Lions for many years and Chairman of the Surrey School board. Retired from Imperial Oil after 40 years he continued to keep himself busy with community activities and travelling with Dixie.

In 1996 Rod and Dixie moved to Osoyoos to enjoy a more relaxed lifestyle remaining an active member of the community and avid golfer.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Gudas and all the dedicated staff at VGH.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday June 28th from 1 pm - 3pm at the Pacific Inn, 1160 King George Hwy.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
