It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Roger at Peace Arch Hospice after a courageous, hard fought battle with kidney cancer. Born and raised in England, Roger moved to Canada when he was 25 years old, retiring to White Rock with his wife in 2013. Roger was a retired Toronto firefighter with 28 years of service, a career that he loved and was very proud of. He will be fondly remembered for his BLUE eyes, his kind and generous heart, sense of humor, and loving romantic nature.
The family would like to thank the staff of Peace Arch Hospice, as well as the palliative care team at Surrey Memorial Hospital, the Peace Arch Home Health Team of nurses, and care aids; his doctors: Dr. Lyly Li, Dr. Christian Kollmannsberger, his nurse Sarah Farnalls, Dr. Michael MacKenzie and the chemotherapy nurses at the Vancouver Cancer Centre. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Kidney Cancer Canada and Peace Arch Hospice Society.
A visitation will be held on Friday, March 6th at 10:00 am followed by a Funeral Service for Roger at 11:00 am at Victory Memorial Park Funeral Centre 14831 28th Ave, Surrey, BC 604-536-6522.
