JONSSON, Rolf Hugo

June 11,1932-June 19,2007

Rolf has passed on to green pastures, where the grass never needs to be mowed. The prominent and well-loved Crescent Beach resident was predeceased by parents Henry and Osma, and is survived by brothers Swen, Eskil, Lars, and sister Birgitta.

Born in Uddevalla, Sweden, Rolf spent eventful years as a weatherman for the Swedish Air Force, and traveling the world with the Merchant Navy. Landing his first BC job as herdsman on a 600 cow dairy farm in the late 50's, he worked his way to Crescent where he made the world a better place. His quiet, friendly manner, broad knowledge, and fascinating stories contributed to his legendary status among his many long term gardening clients and friends of all ages. Known as a distinguished volunteer and discreet confidant, Rolf will be remembered particularly for his traditional "Blueberry tea", Halloween bonfires and Polar Bear Swims skol!

A Celebration of Life will be held at Camp Alexandra on Sunday, July 8th from 4 - 7+. Friends are invited to bring or send written stories for a Timeline-of-Life display. Donations of finger food and/or funds will help with the reception and a permanent memorial. Camp A: (604-535-0015).
