Rosa Franke (nee Kistler) passed away on Sunday August 27 at Peace Arch Hospital surrounded by her family. She was 86. Born in Switzerland, Rosa grew up in a family with four brothers and four sisters with whom she maintained a strong bond, even after she left to travel. She sailed to New York, which was quite a feat for someone who suffered from seasickness, and met people who would become lifelong friends. After spending time in the US and the Caribbean, she moved to Edmonton, AB, where she married and started a family and eventually settled in Surrey. She is survived by her husband, Kim and her two children, Jeff and Morena. We will forever miss her smile, her laugh and her love of life and all the people and things that filled hers.
