BALLARD, Rose. 1918 - 2013. It is with sorrow we announce the passing of Rose Ballard on October 10, 2013 at Zion Park Manor, Surrey, BC. Born in London England in 1918, Rose immigrated to Canada with her husband and three children in 1956 where they settled in White Rock, BC. Rose served the Girl Guides for 55 years in many capacities at the local, provincial and national level. In 1985, she received their highest honour, the Canadian Beaver Award. Rose enjoyed music and singing in her church choir. She travelled extensively, loved the outdoors, and hiked the mountains of Manning Park, Garibaldi, and Mt. Baker until she was in her 80's. Predeceased by husband Bill and daughter Carole, she leaves to mourn her son Alan, daughter Jean, grandchildren Peter, David and Janice, and great grandchild Kaia. She is also mourned by daughter-in-law Bev, niece Susan and nephew Roy, and dear family friend Liz. A Celebration of Life will be held at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, White Rock BC on November 5th at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the BC Girl Guides, 1476 West 8th Ave, Vancouver, BC V6H 1E1, or a charity of your choice.
