GRANT, Ross A.
January 9, 1928 – November 8, 2016
With great sadness we announce the passing of our father on November 8,
2016, in Surrey. Predeceased by his
beloved wife Margaret in 2012, with
whom he shared 64 years of marriage. Also predeceased by his eldest son
John in 2014. Survived by his children Gordon, Corey (Judy), daughter in law Charlotte, grandchildren Heather, Cody and Ashley and great-grandchild Max.
Ross was born in Saskatoon on January 9th, 1928. His family moved to Sullivan where he grew up on a farm with his brother Don and sister Margaret. This is where he learned that hard work paid off. He attended Queen Elizabeth High school where he met the love of his life, Margaret Croy. They married in 1948, foraged a homestead in Surrey and had a great life together. His story would not be complete without her. He always cherished the photo his beloved gave him as a teen inscribed, “love Marg”. When she passed four years ago time stood still for him. This is a love story for the ages. While we will miss him and the shared experience of decoding his riddles, we’re comforted that he’s with his beloved again.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, December 5, 2016 at 2:00pm at the Arbor Chapel, Valley View Funeral Home, 14660 – 72nd Avenue, Surrey, B.C. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice.
