Rudy was born on November 4, 1926 and passed away on October 21, 2003.
Rudy was born in British Guyana, South America where he completed his education, then spent several years in Trinidad. Rudy immigrated to Canada in 1952 and became a very proud and passionate Canadian, working for the principles for a free and democratic society. In his life insurance career he, his wife and family lived in four different provinces of Canada and he travelled extensively throughout Canada.
Rudy is survived by his wife, Patricia, sons Drew (Cathy), Mark (Wendy) and Bruce. His dearly loved son Eric Palmer Fernandes predeceased him in 2000. He was so very proud of his grandchildren, Laura and Colin who will miss him and his kindly words of advice. Many thanks to the staff of Peace Arch Hospital.
A funeral mass was held on Friday, October 24, 2003 at 1:30 p.m. at Good Shepherd Church, 2250 - 150 Street, Surrey, B.C. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1550 Foster Street, White Rock, B.C. V4B 3X8.
