Sally Jane Panaioti (nee Brown), Long time resident of South Surrey died at home on January 4, 2020. Sally is survived by her husband of 61 years, Demetrius (Deme or Dima), son Peter James (Winnie), of Calgary, daughter Colette Louise of Edmonton, brother, Peter and family of Winnipeg, Manitoba, brother William and family of Niagara-on-the Lake Ontario. Sally was born in 1934 in London Ontario and following graduation from high school trained as a Registered Nurse at the Wellesley School of Nursing, in Toronto. Sally's first nursing job took her to Yellowknife, NWT in 1957 where she met her future husband Demetrius who was taking a year off his engineering studies. Sally and Demetrius were married in July 1958 and lived together until her death 61 years later. Sally was the "Rock of Gibraltar" of the family and tried to remain active until the very end of her life. Sally will be sorely missed. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.
