February 1, 1932 - March 17, 2021
It is with sadness we announce the passing of Sheelah Mongey. She passed away peacefully on March 17, 2021, at the Terraces, Evergreen Campus of Care in White Rock, B.C. She passed on St. Patrick's day, which pays tribute to her Irish heritage.
She had a sharp mind and a quick wit and she will be missed by her children Tim, Sharon, their children, her nephew Ronan, her grand niece Sarah and family in Ireland. She was born in Macroom, Co. Cork, Ireland to Daniel and Josephine Lynch, February 1, 1932. She was predeceased by her husband Peter Mongey, January 20, 2020.
We would like to thank the kind people at Evergreen who cared for her and shared her life, as well as her many friends at her previous residence at Whitecliff.
Sheelah grew up in Ireland, then moved to Canada in the late 60's. She was an English teacher in Windsor where she met and married Peter. On retirement, they moved to BC to be closer to their children.
Sheelah's wishes were to have her ashes spread over her parent's graves in Macroom, where a small ceremony will be performed with her family, on the anniversary of her passing.
