October 18, 1939 - October 31, 2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sheila Lynne Cotter. Lynne was born in Summerland, B.C. to Keith and Margaret MacDougall. Lynne's Father was a Pilot with the RCAF and was shot down over the Bay of Biscay during WW II.
Lynne enjoyed her childhood in the Okanagan with many family and friends and excelled in Sports and Academics. Lynne Graduated from Kelowna Secondary School. After High School, Lynne moved to Vancouver to attend UBC where she graduated with a BSc in Biochemistry and Bacteriology and excelled in Basketball and Badminton.
After University, Lynne worked as a Lab Assistant at UBC and then took time to travel the world. Lynne married in 1967 and settled in the South Surrey area where she remained for the rest of her life. Lynne spent many happy summers playing tennis and swimming with family and friends at Crescent Beach Swim Club.
After a divorce and when her children were teenagers, Lynne went back to work as Medical Office Assistant in Ocean Park and Vancouver, which she did until she retired. Lynne loved nature, animals and gardening and spent much of her retired life outdoors.
Lynne is survived by her sons, Kevin and Brian (Bella) and Grandchildren, Kyle and Meghan.
