CHUBB, Sidney Austen
Born June 4, 1913 in Nelson, B.C. and passed away January 29, 2007
Left behind to honour his memory are his wife of 62 years, Mary, his children William, Charles, Joan and Graeme, their spouses, 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and a sister, Mildred.
Following a 38 year career with the pioneer BC trucking firm Johnston Terminals, Mom and Dad retired to Nicola Lake where he embarked on a second career with the RCMP. At age 73 Mom decided he was too old to be riding a motorcycle to work and they retired a second time to White Rock. As his health began to fail Dad moved to Ocean View Care Home where he spent the last six months of his life as a well-loved member of that community.
Wherever they lived Mom and Dad's home was open to people from all countries and all walks of life - a kind word, a compassionate ear and a home cooked meal was there for all. His was a life well lived and he will be missed by all who knew him.
A service of remembrance will be held at St. John's Presbyterian Church, 1480 George Street, White Rock, B.C. at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 8, 2007
