It is with sadness that the family of Sidney Large announce his passing on June 4, 2007.

Sidney was born December 23, 1915 in Eccles, Lancaster, England to Charles Reid Large and Blanche Huband Jordan Large.

He was a master printer and worked around the world for the Cunard Shipping Company. Sidney was a World War II veteran, serving with great distinction with the Grenadier Guards Armoured Division as a tank gunner. He was wounded during the allied repatriation of the Netherlands.

He met and married Margaret McIntyre in Bermuda in 1961 and they settled in Willowdale, Ontario where Sidney was employed as a proof reader for the University of Toronto Press.

In retirement in White Rock, B.C., Sidney enjoyed woodworking and gardening.

He is survived by his sister, Phyllis Parkinson of Southport, England, nieces, Deb Sanderson of Surrey, B.C. and Maureen White of Calgary, Alberta and nephew, Dr. John Hardman (Averill) of Gosport, Hant, England. He was predeceased by his wife Margaret and sister Mabel Harolman.

Sidney's decency, honesty and gentlemanly ways will be very much missed.
