December 22, 2021
It is with sadness, love and profound gratitude, the family of Socorro Kiselich announces her passing on December 22, 2021 at the Peace Arch Foundation Lodge in Surrey, BC.
Predeceased by husband, Larry, and son, Migual. Survived by family; Betty (Chuck), Hazel, Laurie, Lu, and numerous grand and great grandchildren.
Socorro's early life was a struggle with hardships..., but through it all, her love, determination and stubbornness made her the kind of person she was. Mom was a real spitfire, a firecracker, a fighter, a survivor, and yup, a no-nonsense tiny Mexican Lady! She loved to cha-cha away on the dance floor to tunes of the local band "Cheek to Cheek". She loved her dry red wine; cooking and creating delicious Latin foods; her lush garden that looked like a jungle; debating politics; being a teaching aide for children with challenges; real estate, and her beloved furry pets. Mom was a hard worker, and had a wicked sense of humour. Socorro loved each family member in her own peculiar ways, that only she knew how.
In the end, this terrible disease, dementia took everything from her except her fighting spirit.
Due to Covid, there will only be a small private family service.
Mommy, you fought so hard on earth...it's time your spirit rests in peace. Love you forever, Nena.
