June 21, 1922 - February 11, 2025
With heavy hearts we are sad to announce the passing of our mom on February 11, 2025. , Stella at the amazing age of 102. Stella was born June 21, 1922, to David and Gertrude Price at VGH.
'Stella was a devoted mother; she lived a long and exciting life. At the age of 8 she and her older sisters Mona and Gwlady sang to the trolley cars at 41st Dunbar. Teddy Lions, the conductor would announce the girls will be singing to you, the passengers loved them and showered them with money. In the 30's Stella and her sisters sang on CJOR as the Sunshine Sisters. In the late 40's Stella met Bill whom she married on January 17, 1947.They had 3 children, Maureen, David and Shirley. Later on in life she worked at Dunbar Bakery, Birks, Woodward's, and also as a foot model for Eaton's, her foot size was 4.5, this was great for us girls, beautiful shoes that fit! When dad died in 1982, mom then managed Cher's Apparel. She retired at 65 and enjoyed going on small trips, playing bingo and cards, singing, and visiting the odd casino.
At the age of 93 she moved to Jackman Manor in Aldergrove, she was the longest resident and the oldest at 102. She will always be remembered as tapping her fingers on the table and telling the nurses "You're Fired". She was a gentle but feisty lady right to the end. Stella's family would like to thank Dana and the Nurses for the kindness and compassion.
Stella was predeceased by her husband Bill, her sisters Mona and Gwlady, son-in-law Dan, nephew Ron, niece Sharon and grandson Randy.
Left to mourn, daughter Maureen, son David (Deanna), daughter Shirley( Garry),grandchildren Lisa, Danny, Michael, and many nieces and nephews.
Mom arrived in heaven on the most perfect day, February 11th, Dad's birthday, what a wonderful gift.
Celebration of Life will be June 21st, on Stella's birthday, in White Rock, the place she loved the most.
