Susan Marie Leslie (nee Bedard), age 66, of South Surrey, passed away Monday, May 7, 2018 at the Irene Thomas Hospice Residence in Delta, BC, after a long fight with cancer.
She was born February 5, 1952 in Vancouver, BC, raised by her mother Phyllis and "Woodsy". Sue will be greatly missed by her husband Daniel, her brother Harry Bedard (Irene), and her three sons Matthew, Michael (Elli) and Cameron (Nicole).
Growing up Sue spent summers at Crescent Beach where, as she and her mom put it, "the water is always warm". In 1981 Sue and Dan bought acreage in South Surrey. As a result, their family and friends would develop an affinity for country living. Countless students had the pleasure of learning from her during her rich career as a math teacher at Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School. Sue was a community activist in her neighborhood, playing a crucial role in saving the historic Kensington Prairie Elementary School from demolition.
She was a lover of all animals and an active participant in the dog sport community. Many spectators at the PNE will remember seeing her and her beloved companion Trooper performing with SuperDogs.
