Susan Simons (Walters) Steeves

Age 72, of White Rock, B.C. Canada, formerly of Oakwood, passed away suddenly Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003 in her home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Steeves; parents, Ray and Ruth Simons; and 3 brothers, Robert J. Simons, Sr., Richard B. Simons and Thomas A. Simons, Sr. Survived by son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Ellen Walters of Oakwood; daughter, Lynn Walters-Fraze of Columbus and daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Dave Flanders of Washington Twp. 7 grandchildren Doug and Stephanie Flanders, Andrew, Kathleen and Laura Walters, and Devin and Digby Fraze; 2 sisters, Jane Silva and Martha French; stepson and daughter-in-law, Howard and Theresa Steeves and their children, Jennifer and Patrick Steeves; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. Susan was born June 17, 1930 in Dayton, OH. She graduated from Oakwood High School in 1948 and Denison University in 1952 and was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She volunteered extensively for the Junior League of Dayton and St. Paul's Episcopal Church. She was an avid student of the Infinite Way and A Course of Miracles. At the time of her death, she belonged to the Unity Church in Bellingham, WA and was pursuing an acting career in Vancouver. Susan brought enthusiasm, energy, dedication and love to all of her pursuits in life. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held on Friday, Feb. 21, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at Victory Memorial Park Funeral Centre, 14831 - 28 Ave. Surrey, B.C. Donations can be made to the Unity Church in Bellingham, WA.
