June 15, 1925 - January 1, 2022
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Teresa Ridley on January 1, 2022.
Teresa was predeceased by her husband Fred Ridley on February 14, 2014 and is survived by her brother Bernard (Harriott); sister Margaret (Harriott) and her eight children; Paul, Nikki (Wiebe), Chris, Carey, Mark, Kevin, Katherine, and Trish (Wagner). Her legacy also included 17 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, all of whom were her pride and joy.
Teresa, (or G-Ma as her grandkids liked to call her) spent the last few years, with her eldest granddaughter, entertaining fans on Instagram with her quick wit and fabulous style.
Teresa met her husband Fred Ridley on a dance floor in Newcastle where they fell in love, married, and continued to dance their way through life.
They immigrated to Vancouver in 1951 from Whitley Bay, England where they began raising their growing family. The Ridley's moved to Richmond in 1967 where they lived for 25 years before finally settling in South Surrey.
Teresa understood the value of family and devoted her life to her children, extended family, and wonderful friends. There was always an extra seat at the table for anyone in need of a Sunday dinner. She had a quiet disposition and was a devout Catholic which helped her live a full and beautiful life. She will be deeply missed, and we feel at peace knowing she is now dancing again, with her husband and soulmate Fred.
There will be a service at the Good Shepard Church in White Rock on February 14th, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. (2250-150th St., Surrey). All are welcome! (Plenty of room to keep covid restrictions). This service will also be live streamed for those who are unable to attend. A celebration of life will be announced later in the spring.
