Theodore HIRSCHFELDT

HIRSCHFELDT, THEODORE (Ted); Of White Rock passed away at home May 25, 2005 at age 86. Predeceased by his wife Nanette (1983). He is survived by his son Norman (Roxanne), brother; Reinhold and sister Dorothy Davey. Born November 12, 1918 in Emerson, MB, he joined the RCAF in 1942 working as an aircraft mechanic stationed at #9 RC Boundary Bay, BC. After the war he received the an honerable discharge and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, settling in White Rock. He and Nanette (nee Fisher) a local Phys Ed teacher built a home in White Rock where their only son Norman was born in 1960. He was mechanic for many years at Midway Motors and later at Clifford/Don Carr Pontiac. Ted was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping and spending time at his cabin at Loon Lake. He was a founding and lifetime member of Semiahmoo Fish & Game Club and a founding member of the White Rock Yacht Club. He taught archery was a Firearms Instructor and Hunter Safety Examiner. A graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3789 Royal Oak Avenue, Burnaby at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15, 2005. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by all.
