Thomas Harry Davies

March 14, 2005

It is with sorrow we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend on March 14, 2005.

Tom was predeceased by his wife Iona (Timmie) on December 15, 2004, also by granddaughter Meghan, sister Edith, mother Edna and father Charles.

Tom was born in North Battleford, Saskatchewan, on September 6, 1916.

After the sudden passing of his father he worked on the family farm for several years prior to joining 'The Western Producer'.

In 1937 he began his career at the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool. He held several positions during his 38 years including Purchasing Agent and when he retired in 1975 he was Manager of the Construction Department.

During WWII Ton was an Officer (Captain) in the Canadian Army and he continued training with the militia in Regina for several years after.

Upon retirement, Tom and Timmie moved to Qualicum Beach, B.C.

They enjoyed many years on the Island and later moved to White Rock in 1986 to be closer to family.

Tom was a gentle man with a kindly sense of humour. He especially enjoyed his family's gatherings, as well as golf, curling, reading and photography.

Tom will be dearly missed by his daughter Donna WIlliams, sons Blair and Bob, granddaughter Joanna, her husband Randy and their children Emma and Dylan. He is also survived by his brothers Chuck and Bob.

The family would like to thank the staff at Menno hospital in Abbotsford for thier kind care during his brief stay.

A family celebration of Tom's and Timmie's lives will be held this summer.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to be sent to the charity of your choice in Tom's memory.
