LARSSEN, Tore

1922 - 2014

With sadness we announce the sudden passing of Tore Larssen. Tore was born in Risor Norway on June 13, 1922 and passed away at Peace Arch Hospital March 25, 2014 at the age of 91 years.

His family settled in New Westminster, Tore graduated high school at Duke of Connaught. At eighteen years of age he left to train in Little Norway Ontario where he graduated from flight school. He shipped to England to join the Royal Norwegian Air Force 331 squadron, flying spitfires, which formed part of the London Defence Wing. During his life Tore was an avid golfer, lawn bowler, and officiated basketball in the Lower Mainland, and refereed in the Pan American Games.

He was also the past president of the White Rock Lions Club and member of the Crescent Beach Legion. His final years in White Rock were lived in happiness at Crescent Gardens Retirement home, with his wife Norma, who pre-deceased Tore in February 2014.
