It is with great sadness that the family of Villy Nielsen announces his passing on September 23, 2018, at the age of 86 years. Villy was born in Falster, Denmark in 1932, where he apprenticed and became a journeyman brick and stone mason. In 1956, he immigrated to Canada with his wife (Anni) and son (Bent). The family settled in Ontario, where Villy's reputation as a skilled craftsman continued until his retirement in 1992. Villy and Anni moved to the White Rock area of British Columbia to be closer to their son and family. In retirement, Villy became an active member of the Lion's Club and he enjoyed his new friendships and giving service to the community. He later joined the Peace Arch Hospital Cardiac Program and appreciated the warm support from the program staff and the other participants. Villy was fortunate to be able to periodically visit his family and relatives in Denmark, and to host friends from the many memorable years in Woodstock, Ontario.
Villy is survived by his wife of 64 years, Anni and his son, Bent (Beth), his grandchildren, Tristan and Kiera, and his younger brother, Arne in Denmark.
