WARNER, Violet Edith

Born on August 28, 1927 in Kimberley, B.C., Vi passed away in Calgary on June 18, 2007. She is survived by her loving husband Howard, her children and grandchildren: Ron (Shauna), Ryan, Cayley and Alexa; Ross (Judy), Carolyn, and Brenda; Garry (Joanne), Stephanie, Mark, and Lauren; brothers, George (Donna), Bob (Marlace), and her sister, Katherine Olsen. She was predeceased by her mother, Cassie, and father, Angus. Violet moved to the family farm in Calmar and then to Gleichen in 1947. In 1948 she married Howard and had the three children. Her primary role was raising her three children and caring for the garden. Violet loved her grandchildren, golf, curling, travel, and the Gleichen choir, of which she was an active member. Memorial services were held on Friday, June 22, 2007 at Strathmore United Church at 2:00 p.m. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of the Beverly Centre Unit 200 for the excellent and compassionate care shown to Vi.
