At 75, after battling cancer, Gin died peacefully at St Peter's Hospital, Hamilton. Through devoted friends and family, she spent most of her illness at home. Proud mother of David Herbert (Erin) of Bellingham, Washington, and Lee McGuigan (Dave) of Berryville, Virginia.
Grandchildren Winter, Faris, & Macson were her joy.
Survived by sisters Nancy, Laurie.
Predeceased by brother Stuart (Marilyn).
After university, Gin worked for Hamilton library. Her last six years were in White Rock, BC to be near grandchildren. Bridge player, traveler, gardener, social justice advocate and environmentalist, we admired her honesty, loyalty, inquisitive mind, love of art, passion for causes, and infectious laugh.
With many stories to share, we hope that by 2022 all Canadians are vaccinated so we can gather, hug and Celebrate her Life.
A Ceilidh memorial will be held in Cape Breton. Memorial donations can be made to Hamilton Naturalists' Club.
