Walter Welychka

December 23, 2003

Walter (Wally) was bron September 5, 1929 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Wally passed away peacefully with dignity in the presence of his loving family on December 23, 2003.

Wally will be remembered for his kind and generous nature, as a pillar of strength, and a true gentleman. He was a person you could trust and always count on. While he left us too soon, and will be sadly missed by family and friends, we will all take comfort in having known this very precious man.

He served his country with pride and dedication as a career member of the R.C.M.P., being posted in several Canadian locations. Upon retirement, he resided in the White Rock area. Wally enjoyed travelling to many parts of the world. A very sociable person who enjoyed daily walks on the White Rock promenade and pier, and the camaraderie of friends at coffee breaks.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. P. Frey, Dr. S. Isserow of UBC Hospital, Dr. J. Pretty, Dr. R. Leonard and Nursing Staff at Peace Arch Hospital and loving friends and family for their care and compassion.

Funeral Service was held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2003 at Victory Memorial Park Funeral Centre, 14831 - 28th Avenue, South Surrey, B.C. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Wally's memory to Make a Wish Foundation, 930 - 470 Granville Street, Vancouver, B.C. V6C 1V5.
