Wilfred "Wilf" Sinitsin BSc P. Eng.

Passed away at the age of 94 on Saturday, July 20, 2013, after a wonderful walk in the sunshine with Irene, his wife of 69 years. Born in Perm, Russia in 1919, Wilf immigrated as a young child to Canada, settling in Calgary with his family. After obtaining a certificate in Industrial Electricity in his 20's, he moved to Ontario to join Fleet Aircraft, a company producing planes for the war effort. It was in Fort Erie that he met and married in 1944, the love of his life, Irene. Wilf pursued a BSc mechanical engineering degree at U of Toronto and graduated with honours in 1947, while Irene nurtured the first two of five children. Tin Lizzie, a rebuilt Model T Ford took the family West to B.C. where Wilf was employed by, and later purchased, an injection moulding company, Listo Products Ltd. Wilf was a Plastics Pioneer, holding several patents in Injection moulding. He was one of the first Western Canadian Plastics Association Presidents, an influential member of the Canadian Manufacturers Association, and a member of the BC Engineers Club. He is a past president of Sertoma, a service club for the advancement of hearing protection. Wilf is survived by his wife, Irene, all of his children, Lynda (Kelly), Larry (Jan), Gregory, Douglas (Elan) and Kenneth (Carolyn). Also survived by his grandchildren, Lisa, Debbie, Gary, Crystal, Ryan, Chelsea, Matt, and Robert. Special thanks to his brother Paul and nephew Boris Pavlov (Donna) who provided companionship and support during his struggle with Alzheimers. A Celebration of Wilf's Life will be held on Monday, July 29, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Victory Memorial Park Funeral Centre, 14831 28th Avenue, Surrey, BC.
