William Alexander Cameron

William passed away on April 29, 2003 at the University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton of complications following a stroke.

Born in the Cameron family home at 118th Street and Jasper Avenue on 6th September, 1920, he was educated in Edmonton schools and then the University of Alberta, graduating in Agriculture.

Before leaving to serve in Europe as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army, he married his university sweetheart, Sheila Hayhurst. After returning from his years of service, he spent his thirty year career in agricultural finance with Veteran's Land Act and subsequently Farm Credit Corporation in Red Deer and then in Ottawa.

Following retirement, hands ever busy in some form of construction or home improvement project, he and Sheila spent twenty happy years travelling and at family homes in Sylvan lake, Dovercourt and White Rock.

He was predeceased by his cherished wife Sheila in 1997, as well as his brother Alfred and sister-in-law Chris, brother Lee and sister-in-law Grace, brother Donald and sister-in-law Carmen and sister Cora and brother-in-law George.

He is survived by his brother Evan and sister-in-law Vivian of Penticton, numerous nieces and nephews, as well as eldest son, Blake (Tara) of Comox, daughter Margaret Anne (Jim) of Edmonton and younger son, Bill of North Vancouver. Also nine grandchildren and one great grandchild lovingly remember him.

A memorial service will take place officiated by Reverend Neil Gray at Church of the Holy Trinity, 15115 Roper Avenue, White Rock, B.C. on September 5, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. Refreshments and fellowship will follow in the church hall. Charitable donations may be made to the theater arts organization of your choice, in your community, in his name.
