William (Bill) Bloor

September 5, 2006

October 10, 1937 - September 5, 2006

With great sorrow and sadness the family and friends of Bill announce his passing on to his next journey.

He is survived by and will be greatly missed by his loving wife, friend and companion, Sandra; his son, Daniel Eyman; his daughter and son-in-law, Stacey and Stephen Gallie and their children, Megan and Trevor Gallie; and numerous friends.

Bill was born and raised in Deep Cove and went on to serve 5 years in the Canadian Royal Navy.

He had a colourful and interesting life and made some life long friends in his years working as a longshoreman on the Vancouver waterfront.

Bill was given the opportunity to work for the ILWU and BCMEA when he became the Employee Assistant Coordinator for the longshoremen and coordinated the program for 15 years, a job that gave him an opportunity to work with and help other people.

His greatest hobby was planning and taking journeys throughout many areas of the world to meet new friends and enjoy their cultures.

He will be sorely missed by many for his cutting sense of humour, his generosity and love of his fellow man. A get together to share stories and memories of Bill's life will be held at the Alano Club, 176 East 2nd, North Vancouver, Saturday, September 16, 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Peace Arch Hospital would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks to the doctors and nurses that gave Bill and his wife loving and tender care throughout his illness.
